When we were invited to design the first holiday installation for the new owners of The Audubon Inn, we purchased an inventory of highly realistic, illuminated artificial trees as well as a selection of wreaths, garlands, and swags to install throughout the property. The trees were decorated simply with white matte balls, white tipped pinecones and — in a nod to John James Audubon, for whom the hotel is named – we enhanced the trees with small flocks of brilliant red artificial cardinals, placed in natural configurations, as if they might have just landed there.
